Bangour Junction was located more or less where the A899 crosses the railway in Livingston, between Uphall and Livingston North.

On 31 January 2006, a trip with the erstwhile Whitrope Wull to Shankend to see how far we could walk on the old Waverley trackbed. With the area as desolate now as it ever was, the bitter winter's day added to the atmosphere.

When it became clear work was due to commence on the Airdrie - Bathgate project, I decided I'd better attempt to take a few shots of the day to day scene before the overhead wires arrived and did what they've done elsewhere - ruin the shot...
These are a selection of the results obtained in decent conditions - they also show some of the changes as the works continued.
